Twos Program

  • Our twos program maintains a safe environment while challenging your two-year-old to explore learning on a whole new level.
  • Our twos program partners with families through the potty training phase.
  • Our twos program is for ages 25-36 months.

We help with potty training!

What will a day look like for my two-year-old?

7:00-9:00am | Free Play

9:15am | Bathroom Break

9:30am | Clean-up

9:40am | Morning Snack and Diapers

10:00am | Circle Time

10:10am  | Center Play, Small Groups, and Bathroom Break

11:00am | Recess

11:45am | Wash hands, Lunch, and Diapers

1:00pm | Nap Time

3:00-5:30pm | Afternoon Snack, Diapers and Free play

Your Child Will Explore Developmental Domains

What Does That Look Like Practically?

Social Skills:

The student will be able to:

  •   Care for all bathroom needs independently
  •   Follow 3-step directions
  •   Use good manners (please, thank you, excuse me)
  •   Treat school property with respect
  •   Sit for at least 10-12 minutes during circle time
  •   Comprehend a story and answer questions that follow
  •   Pay attention and participate in learning centers
  •   Transition well from one center to another
  •   Play cooperatively with others
  •   Begin to share with others
  •   Begin to express feelings and emotions verbally
  •   Use kind words to communicate
  •   Communicate to teacher if he/she needs assistance with something
  •   Drink from an open cup independently

Fine Motor Skills:

The student will be able to:

  •   Hold crayon properly
  •   Start to color in the lines
  •   Start cutting with scissors
  •   Start gluing independently
  •   Build with smaller materials (Legos, blocks)

 

Gross Motor Skills:

The student will be able to:

  •   Walk up and down stairs alternating feet
  •   Jump forward/backward, up and down
  •   Balance on one foot for a few seconds
  •   Hop on one foot
  •   Walk backwards
  •   Run without falling
  •   Peddle a tricycle
  •   Catch and kick a large ball
  •   Move to the beat of music
  •   Walk in a straight line

Reading Readiness:

The student will be able to:

  •   Recite entire alphabet independently
  •   Have an emerging recognition of most letters from the alphabet
  •   Identify his/her name
  •   Identify most colors
  •   Identify most shapes
  •   Sing familiar songs
  •   Fill in the words to a familiar story

Math Readiness:

The student will be able to:

    •   Count by rote to 15
    •   Start to recognize numbers
    •   Start to recognize simple patterns
    •   Start to show sorting skills
