Pastor Missy Knechel
Missy’s passion is helping young people find their identity in Christ. As the Pastor of Family Ministries, she can put that passion into practice. She works closely with our three areas of family ministry (kids, youth, and the early learning academy) to ensure that there is a seamless plan for children and families from birth through high school to experience God’s love and grow spiritually with each stage of life with the help from loving leaders.
Missy started serving at Victory in 2003 as a youth and kids LifeGroup leader. In 2009, Victory hired Missy as our kids’ pastor, and shortly after that, she helped start Victory Early Learning Academy, where she has been the director for the last ten years.
Missy has an MA in Multicultural Education from Eastern University, where she has been an adjunct professor in the early childhood department for ten years. She also taught for a total of 10 years in the early elementary classroom. One of Missy’s passions is writing about early childhood and family life for various blogs. She and her husband, Jason, have four amazing children, Caleb, Rylie, Asher, and Josiah, and a fur baby named Hokie.
One of the things Missy most appreciates about Victory is how intentional the church is with equipping the next generation to grow into their God-given talents and purpose so that they may experience true significance in Jesus.
