Be Significant
Give. Serve. Love.

God is doing great things at Victory Church—but the best is yet to come! We are stepping into a season of great significance as we build on what God has already done in the past. The feeling I get from my times in prayer and my conversations with Victory Church leaders is that we are getting ready to relaunch our church into new levels of effectiveness for the glory of God. God wants to do even greater things through us than we have experienced. Iʼm so glad that the people of Victory Church donʼt just want to settle for good enough.

God has called us to BE SIGNIFICANT. We arenʼt settling for success as so many people would define it. Weʼre pursuing the significance that comes from offering ourselves to serve God and others in our church, in our community, and in our world. Not only do we expect to do something significant with our lives; we are expecting God to take what we offer and do amazing things beyond our own abilities. We are actively positioning ourselves for the blessings of God to flow to us and through us.

BE SIGNIFICANT is an initiative of generosity to focus all of our giving on one purpose: reaching more people for Jesus. For the next two years, all of our giving (tithes, missions, the Love Offering) will go into one unified fund that we are calling BE SIGNIFICANT. Our giving will focus on three areas:

We want our facility to be a bridge to reach people who are far from God

We want to reach people for Jesus right here in our own community

We want to bring hope to the world through greater missions giving

Our current annual giving totals about $1.3 million, which would be $2.6 million over the next two years. For us to do what God is calling us to do in outreach, we need to expand our generosity to reach a goal of $3.6 million over the next two years. God will help us meet this challenge!

We can accomplish our goal only as everyone who attends Victory Church commits to new levels of generosity. Thatʼs part of attaining new levels of people coming to know Jesus, new levels of commitment to the Lord, and new levels of joy in our hearts. Giving is, after all, a heart issue, and Godʼs plan for our lives will never be complete without developing generous hearts. BE SIGNIFICANT is an opportunity for all of us to grow into the people God has created us to be.

Iʼm asking you, and everyone who attends Victory Church, to be bold in your response to BE SIGNIFICANT. Just imagine what 100% participation will mean for so many people in our church, our community, and our world! God will be pleased, and lives will be changed—including yours.

In Jesus’ love,
Pastor Ed

Be Significant – Stories

Our Church Family: the most significant institution on earth is the local church.

It is the only institution Jesus said he would build, and the only one that will endure forever. The diversity of Victory Church makes a powerful statement that this house believes the significance found in Christ is for people of every race, social standing, and age. We want our worship experience and worship facility to be a bridge that offers hope to all. Let’s invest to make our Sunday worship experience a place of refuge and hope to the diverse world around us.

Our neighbors: The only path to true significance is through serving.

We have neighbors, coworkers, people in our lives, with a wide range of needs. Even those who seem to have it all are searching for something that is missing: significance. When we at Victory Church serve in our many outreach ministries, we bless others and are on the path to greatness ourselves. When we invite others to serve alongside us, we are inviting them to true significance also. Many will accept the invitation to serve with us long before they’re ready to accept an invitation to worship with us. Let’s invest to serve our neighbors, and to invite others to true significance.

Our world: The most significant work is to take the Good News to the whole world.

We want to be fully engaged in helping hurting people around the world. We see this happening by investing in “world-changer” missionaries and ministries who we will partner with to bring the love of Jesus to a lost and dying world. Let’s invest to reach the world for Jesus.

I’m asking every person who attends Victory Church to consider what putting God before all things would look like in your life.

What would it look like if each of us invested in things that are eternally significant?

What if our giving was the reason just one more person found Jesus?

What if you gave more generously for 24 months? Would it change others? Even more importantly, would it change you?
