This is an exciting time in your child’s life. They’re starting to ask questions about their faith. They’re wondering about God and His love for them. They may be asking a lot of questions about Jesus–questions that you may struggle with yourself, or questions that may not have a simple answer. But that’s ok. This is a starting point for you and your kids to begin a life-long conversation about faith. There is no greater honor and responsibility as parents than to lead your child in a faith decision.
But you’re not alone, here are some resources to help you with these conversations.
VictoryKids loves equipping and partnering with families to see children discover and grow in their God-designed purpose so they can experience lifelong faith. If the church is yellow (a beacon of light) and the family is red (the heart), together they make ORANGE – an encouraging nexus for kids to grow in their faith of God. When families and church partner together to invest in a child’s life to demonstrate the message of God’s story, the next generation can be influencers. It’s BOTH family and church and that’s the key. Faith development in a child can’t be just relegated to the church and, in the same vein, faith development in children can be positively influenced when families proactively devote time and energy to partnering with the church (Joiner).
You can’t lead your children anywhere you’re not willing to go yourself, this includes faith!
