Meals on Wheels started as a compassionate idea and has grown into one of the largest and most effective social movements in America, currently helping more than 2.4 million seniors annually in virtually every community in the country. You get to be a part of that!

Once you are trained and get your background clearances, you will be invited to take part in one of three options to serve.

  1. Packing
    Description: pack cold meals and bag them, label them, and organize them to for that day’s routes 
    Day and time: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:45am-9:45am
    Level of difficulty: Easy
    Needed: own mask 
    Provided: gloves, hair net, “gown”

  2. Driving and delivering
    Description: deliver meals to certain homes. A binder is given with addresses and instructions. You must hand deliver each meal to the resident and also do a well check to physically make sure they are okay. 
    Day and time: Fridays (sometimes Mondays and Wednesdays) from 9:30-11:00
    Level of difficulty: Medium (must be able to drive, navigate, and willing to walk into people’s homes) 
    Needed: own mask, gloves, hand sanitizer, own car
    Provided: Binder with instructions and coolers with meals

  3. Clean up
    Description: Sanitize/disinfect each cooler and carrier that is returned after routes
    Day and time: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12pm-1pm
    Level of difficulty: easy
    Needed: own mask
    Provided: gloves and cleaning products
